STYLE NOTES
The Archivist story began in 1998, deep within the archives of the Natural History Museum. In 2025, they honoured this pivotal chapter by launching a special collection of matchbox designs in collaboration with the Natural History Museum, bringing heritage and artistry together in a striking new way.
- This design has been inspired by the artworks of French mineralogist Francois Louis Swebach Desfontaines (1749-1793) who created a series of exquisite watercolour drawings depicting mineral specimens in boxwork cabinets.
- Their best-selling classic matchboxes make fabulous, fun & practical gifts for any occasion.
